PTS is a complete medical patient tracking system with transcription entry points, and automated, well formatted medical reports and FAX transmissions to selected physicians and laboratories. Based on FirstBase, a high performance relations database management system, PTS combines the ability to store and maintain transcribed reports with immediate FAX output to all involved physicians. Using PTS, patients and physicians are stored in the database. Then as each patient visits the office, a new report is transcribed directly into the database, along with a list of doctors and other FAX targets. Immediately, the transcriber can move to the next patient report. Without transcriber interaction, PTS will generate formatted reports and FAX transmissions as they are requested. All reports can be customized to fit the office letterhead. Software and Hardware RequirementsPTS requires a UNIX operating system (SCO Unix/Xenix, Interactive UNIX, SunOS, Solaris, Linux, or HP/UX), running on a 386/486, Sun, or HP computer. PTS also needs either a Postscript or Laser Jet printer and a FAX compatible modem. Software support requires a second modem. Since PTS can be used to receive incoming FAX calls, a FAX machine is not needed. The PTS package uses three complex software components: a database management system, a postscript/laserjet formatting system, and a FAX communication system. Contact a FirstBase representative for more information on how you can incorporate the PTS in your environment.
