FirstBase Software worked with Ernst and Young (E&Y) to develop
applications that parse standard, human readable, ASCII trust statements
and covert the data to main stream FirstBase databases for
use with state of the art Ernst and Young bond verification services.
The trust statements, 130+ character per line ASCII files of
text and formatted dates and dollar amounts, are produced by
legacy computing systems and then provided to Ernst and Young.
Using the FirstBase tool
dbmacro,
these electronic files
are parsed and ready to load CSV records of information are generated.
Using the embedded record type, a field from the report,
some of the generated CSV records
are sign or date adjusted, or are duplicated, to coerce the
original trust statement data stream to fit exactly
into the E&Y data environment.
The generated records are automatically loaded into
fresh Ernst and Young databases
ready for standard verification services.
